Dr. Jehad Saleh Abdel Hafez Hassouneh,
Dr. Jehad Hassouneh is a highly experienced general surgeon with over two decades of medical practice. He has made significant contributions to the healthcare community in Palestine, particularly through his work at Tulkarm Governmental Hospital, where he has been a General Surgeon since 2006. His responsibilities include handling outpatient care, performing major and minor surgeries, managing emergency cases, and overseeing surgical wards.
A graduate of Saint Petersburg State Medical Academy in Russia, Dr. Hassouneh holds certifications from both the Palestinian and Jordanian Boards in General Surgery. His expertise extends to advanced laparoscopic surgery, including procedures such as gastric bands, gastric sleeves, hernia repairs, and splenectomies. He has received specialized training at prestigious institutions like the European Surgical Institute in Germany and has been involved in metabolic and obesity-related surgery as a member of the International Federation for Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders (IFSO).
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Hassouneh has been a tutor at Al Najah University since 2008, helping to shape the next generation of medical professionals. He has also served as the Chief of General and Laparoscopic Surgery at the Palestinian Red Crescent Society Hospital, where he was responsible for leading advanced laparoscopic procedures.
Dr. Hassouneh’s dedication to humanitarian causes is evident through his active participation in Physicians Across Continents (PAC) global surgical missions. As a volunteer, he has performed a significant number of operations in underserved areas, with his work taking him to countries such as Somalia and Malawi.
