Dr. Abdulwahab Sulaiman Al Abed AlJubab
Dr. Abdulwahab Sulaiman Al Abed AlJubab is a distinguished Consultant Pediatric Surgeon and Chairman of the Pediatric Surgery Department at King Fahad Medical City in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. With over 30 years of medical experience, Dr. AlJubab has established himself as a pioneering leader in pediatric surgery, both in the Middle East and on the global stage.
He earned his MBBS from King Saud University in 1987, followed by advanced training in general and pediatric surgery in Canada. He holds the prestigious Fellowships of the Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland (FRCSI, 1996), General Surgery (FRCSC) from McGill University (1998), and Pediatric Surgery (FRCPSC) from the University of Ottawa (2000).
Throughout his career, Dr. AlJubab has held several key leadership roles, including Medical Director and Chair of the Surgical Department at NWAFH, Tabuk. He also served as Program Director for the Pediatric Surgery Fellowship at King Fahad Medical City. In addition, he is the Chairman of the Riyadh Pediatric Surgery Club and an Associate Professor at King Saud University for Health Specialty.
Renowned for his expertise in minimally invasive pediatric surgeries, particularly laparoscopic and thoracoscopic procedures, Dr. AlJubab has also specialized in neonatal surgery and pediatric oncology. Over his career, he has successfully performed more than 10,000 pediatric surgical cases, ranging from complex neonatal procedures to trauma surgeries and oncology cases.
In addition to his clinical expertise, Dr. AlJubab is a dedicated educator and mentor. He has played a vital role in training the next generation of pediatric surgeons and has contributed extensively to the medical field through research, authoring numerous scientific papers on pediatric and neonatal surgery.
A passionate advocate for global health, Dr. AlJubab is an active volunteer with Physicians Across Continents (PAC). His surgical missions have taken him across Africa and Asia, where he has provided critical pediatric surgical care to underserved communities in countries like Nigeria, Ethiopia, Madagascar, Chad, Guinea Conakry, Cameroon, Tanzania, Comoros, Malawi, Zanzibar, Sudan, Somalia, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, Burkina Faso, Cambodia, Bangladesh and Yemen.
