Other Ways to Give

When a man dies, his deeds come to an end except for three things: Sadaqah Jariyah (continuing charity), knowledge which is beneficial, or a virtuous descendant who prays for him’ [Muslim]

The virtue of giving in charity whilst one is in good health:

It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) that a man came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and said: “O Messenger of Allaah, which charity brings a greater reward?” He said, “If you give in charity when you are healthy and miserly, fearing poverty and hoping for richness. Do not delay until you are at the point of death and you say, ‘Give this to So and so, give this to So and so,’ …” (al-Bukhaari, 1330; Muslim, 1713).

How to leave a gift to Physicians Across Continents in your will

The best way to help us respond in an emergency is with a residuary gift – a share of what is left in your estate once you have paid your debts and provided for your loved ones. While every gift to Physicians Across Continents is gratefully received, this is the best way to help us respond in an emergency.

Residuary gifts have the advantage over a specific sum of money as inflation will not reduce their value over time.

Alternatively, you can choose to leave a pecuniary gift – a fixed amount of money.
