Physicians Across Continents – Nigeria

Physicians Across Continents has been established in Somalia since 2011, by providing primary and secondary health care services in Benadir Hospital which is the largest mother and child hospital in Somalia.

Since then we’ve gone on to expand our work across the country, working alongside Governmental, International Organisations and NGOs to improve coverage of health services, strengthen health systems, and provide medical equipment support across Somalia.

Humanitarian Mission – Monkey Pox Outbreak

Following the outbreak of Monkey Pox in Cross Rivers State, Nigeria in early September 2017, Physicians Across Continents were providing remote technical assistance and on the ground support to those dealing with the potential epidemic.
With no cure, our work here is concentrated on treating patients for their symptoms and research into the source of the disease so that we can better prepare for the future and potentially develop a vaccine for the disease.
